and use of energy, water and chemicals; , as well as taking positive action on
social issues, such as employee welfare, working with the local community,
child protection and human rights. They must also show how they are helping to
support local businesses and protect local traditions and wildlife.
The Hotel
Jardín Tecina, located within the Canaries and
on the picturesque island of La Gomera, is a
distinctive cliff-top luxury hotel complex overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and
Mount Teide in neighbouring Tenerife. It stands surrounded by over 70,000
square metres of verdant gardens and is only a stone throw away from the
majestic Tecina Golf Course.
The gardens contain over 50 different species of
plants from all over the globe and the hotel itself blends effortlessly into
the setting with its Canarian style architecture. Each bungalow is bordered by
paths and gardens which ensure maximum privacy and the comfortables rooms feature
all the facilities one would expect from a hotel of this class.

industry. It helps tour operators, hotels and accommodations to manage and
monitor their social and environmental impacts, as well as communicate their
achievements to customers. It is an easy to use sustainability system which
provides members with a practical framework to improve their business.
Travelife for Hotels and
Accommodations is the only certification scheme that works in partnership with
tour operators, both in the UK and internationally, who use the system to
